Playing with Formats

Here are some fun design formats I've been playing around with on Studio Design.

Stay tuned for more!

5 Corner's Cafe

My dear friends Kathy and Paul own and run an awesome restaurant in Old Forge, New York based around using the best ingredients, supporting local, clean food.
I worked for these guys for years while I was going to school and am honored to call them my friends.

They gave me this first official opportunity and
I can not imagine a better place to host my first gig!

It was a cold and snowy day, but these ladies came out and did an amazing job.
We learned about Post-Impressionism, Vincent van Gogh and we all painted our own renditions of his famous 'Sunflowers' (1888).
After the class was over, Paul and Kath put out an amazing four course wine pairing dinner based around Vincent van Gogh's life.

I definitely put them to task on this one, as van Gogh was known more for drinking insane amounts of coffee and absinthe, and using whatever money he had left for art supplies!

Regardless, they pulled it off seamlessly!
All seats were taken, the food was incredible, the wine guy discussed the French wine pairings, and I gave an art history snippet between courses.

It was an great day.
I could not have asked for a better group of fun ladies, a better venue and hosts, and the meal was extraordinary!

Thank you to all who attended both the class and the dinner!
We had an amazing time!

Where It All Began

This is where it all began!
After electing to stay home with my son for five years, it felt like the right time to spark the pilot light.

On a hot day in late August 2014, these dear, trusted friends came to act as a test group, and to share this premier with me, for what now has become 'Art on a Carte,' a concept of blending my loves;
friends, art, food and wine.
These ladies are so fun, they did an amazing job, and I wouldn't be here without them.

(You will see here that this first event was named 'Art Thyme,' which I adored since it was a nice marriage of art and food, however a few other people in Miami had already branded the name...
I will reserve the naming journey for a later post!)

I am excited and honored to take this journey with these women and all of you!

Here is a short photo spread of our first event.
